Gammoth was created as a part of the Sand Tribe on Spherus Magna. He was one of few Glatorian Warriors from the tribe who wasn't experimented on by the Great Beings to receive a stinger tail.

When the planet split apart, Gammoth was stranded along with many other Sand Tribe members on the moon of Bota Magna. While the remainder of the Sand Tribe on Bara Magna eventually went feral, the Sand Tribe on Bota Magna became more introspective. They blamed the shattering of Spherus Magna on their overreliance on technology, turning toward a lifestyle focused in nature.

Gammoth and some of the tribe's other Glatorian went on to begin a more spiritual lifestyle, practicing deep meditation in the forests of Bota Magna. These meditation sessions would sometimes last long enough for moss and vegetation to grow on their bodies.

Gammoth remained undisturbed for many years, until a team of Order of Mata Nui Spies stumbled across Gammoth during a reconnaissance mission. They interrupted his meditation and wound up in a skirmish with him. Gammoth knocked out several of the Order Spies until finally being brought down. The spies then suggested recruiting Gammoth to the Order.

An Order of Mata Nui Spy later tracked Gammoth down to present the offer to join the Order. After careful consideration, Gammoth accepted. He was teleported to Daxia and began training, eventually completing several missions for the Order's Military Division. 

Later he would go on to become the steadfast Gatekeeper of the Order of Mata Nui's Headquarters on Daxia.

Abilities & Tools

As a member of the Glatorian species, Gammoth possesses no elemental powers. But, through his meditation and communion with nature, he has developed the ability to manipulate his own spirit energy. He has trained to the point where he can use his spirit energy as a short range projectile attack or protective barrier.

Gammoth is also an expert at hand-to-hand combat, and has a legendary kicking ability. He can enhance his punches and kicks with his spirit energy, which allows him to deal more damage. 

Like all other members of the Order of Mata Nui, Gammoth's mind is shielded from mental attack.

Gammoth wears a Kanohi Komau, the Noble Mask of Mind control. However, as Gammoth is a Glatorian, he is unable to use mask powers.

Personality

Gammoth is typically very calm and relaxed, even in intense combat situations. He's also very friendly with other Order Members. He possesses extreme focus, however, guarding the most secretive location in the Matoran universe can sometimes be pretty boring, so he's known to occasionally doze off on the job.
