Kojiro originates from a small unnamed island north of Metru Nui that was completely isolated and foreign to the majority of the Matoran Universe. This island was inhabited by a village of Toa and Matoran known as the Lotus Clan. The Lotus Clan had a very spiritual culture, resulting in a much more powerful breed of Toa.

The island was discovered by the Order of Mata Nui while searching for locations to seal away artifacts gathered from the Dimensional Relocation of Luna Magna. The clan was presented with an artifact to be hidden on the island, the Sword of Destruction, Lævateinn. 

Believing the artifact was cursed, the Lotus Clan refused to keep it on their island. However, something else held far more value to the Order of Mata Nui - the Toa warriors that inhabited the island.

A deal was struck between the Order of Mata Nui and the Lotus Clan. The island and its people would be protected and kept secret, as long as they kept the artifact hidden on the island, and one of their warriors joined the Order. Seeing the strength of the Order, Kojiro volunteered for this task. Kojiro was brought to Daxia and officially inducted as a servant of the Order.

Later, the Sword of Destruction was found and recovered by Flandrex, who used it to kill another member of the Lotus Tribe, Konpaku. Flandrex was quickly apprehended on the island by the Toa Artakha, and was imprisoned in the remains of the abandoned Hand of Artakha's headquarters.

Years later, after the Order began recruiting Toa and was split into specialized divisions, Kojiro was inducted as a full member of the Order, where he chose to join Regron's Military Division. He chose the Military Division as he saw the Assassin Division as dishonorable.

Abilities & Tools

As a Toa of Stone, Kojiro can create and manipulate Stone and Stone Elemental Energy. As a member of the Lotus Clan, his abilities were enhanced by his strong spirit, making him more powerful than the average Toa of Stone.

Like all other members of the Order of Mata Nui, Kojiro's mind is shielded from mental attack.

Kojiro wields a katana, a traditional style of sword from his village. He also wears a style of helmet traditionally worn by Toa warriors from the Lotus Clan.

Kojiro wears a Kanohi Ruru, the Noble Mask of Night Vision.

Personality

Kojiro does not abide by the Toa code, but rather the code and doctrine of his people, holding honor to an extremely high standard. He avoided joining the Assassin Division of the Order, seeing them as dishonorable.
