Ex-Leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta

Backstory

Shortly after Mata Nui's departure from Spherus Magna, he created the Makuta species to manage the Matoran Universe and populate it with Rahi. The Makuta formed the Brotherhood of Makuta, with Makuta Miserix as their leader.

Later, the League of Six Kingdoms attempted to overthrow Mata Nui and conquer the Matoran Universe. However, the Brotherhood of Makuta prevented this. Inspired by the League, Makuta Teridax formulated a plan to overthrow Mata Nui himself.

Following the Matoran Civil war in Metru Nui, Miserix appointed several Makuta to govern the islands in the Matoran Universe. As leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta, Miserix was automatically placed in charge of their home island, Destral.

Teridax presented his plan to the Brotherhood, and the majority of the Makuta were in favor. Miserix opposed the plan, as well as five other Makuta. Teridax then led a mutiny, and placed himself in charge of the Brotherhood. He ordered the six Makuta killed, but unbeknownst to him, Miserix was not killed, rather imprisoned on the island of Artidax by Makuta Krika. The remaining five Makuta loyal to Miserix went into hiding.

Eventually, the Makuta evolved into forms of pure energy, and the Brotherhood commissioned the Nynrah Ghosts to rebuild their armor to accommodate their new, gaseous forms. However, Miserix's armor was never upgraded, and he was forced to absorb mass from other beings to accommodate for it.

Miserix's bonds weakened his powers, but he was eventually able to absorb enough mass to increase his body to incredible size. After thousands of years, the Order of Mata Nui organized a team to rescue Miserix from Artidax led by Brutaka. The team, dubbed the 'Federation of Fear' was successful, and Miserix was freed to assist in the Destiny War against Teridax.

Miserix then went on a rampage, scouring the Matoran Universe for any sign of Teridax, which eventually led him to Metru Nui, and then the Core Processor. There he found Axonn, Brutaka, Helryx, and the Toa Hagah. Brutaka revealed they were within the mind of Mata Nui, and Makuta Teridax revealed he was already inside.

Teridax teleported Axonn, Brutaka, and Keetongu out of the Core Processor, trapped Miserix in an illusion, and hypnotized the Toa Hagah, who then left. Helryx was then trapped within the Core Processor as Teridax's prisoner.

After being trapped for months, Helryx decided to destroy the Core Processor with a Nova Blast to put an end to Teridax's reign, at the cost of the entire Matoran Universe. Suddenly, Tren Krom (In Lewa's Body), Tuyet, Hafu, and Kapura arrived in the core processor, followed by Axonn and Brutaka. Tren Krom freed Miserix from Teridax's illusion, and the group split up into separate sides. Miserix and Axonn sided with Helryx, and Brutaka, Tuyet, and Tren Krom fought against them to prevent the destruction of the Matoran Universe, until Artakha arrived to break up the fighting. Teridax then teleported all the beings into space.

The group was rescued from space by Vezon, and they found themselves in an abandoned fortress on the moon of Bota Magna. There they discovered Tomidas, an imprisoned Great Being who was cursed by the Mask of Life, and debated whether to free him. Lewa, Hafu and Kapura later left the fortress.

While in the fortress, Mata Nui managed to defeat Teridax and reunite Spherus Magna, transforming the moon of Bota Magna into the forest of Bota Magna. Unbeknownst to the beings within the fortress, another Great Being, Velika, was rigging the fortress to explode, intending to wipe out many of the most powerful beings from the Matoran Universe.

Velika's explosives went off, killing Axonn and Brutaka. Tomidas survived, but remained imprisoned, and Helryx was rescued by Artakha, who revealed himself to be a Great Being in disguise. Miserix, Tuyet, and Vezon's fates are currently unknown.
